Unicorn Fairy

Another of Tams workshops is the awesome M3-Magical Mythical Makings,  a 5 week course offering some Amazing tutorials. Wk 5 is about Fairies and Unicorns...something I really love!!!!!
So here is my effort, I stayed with graphite pencils as I really liked the look, but I think I will do another and colour it later.

Fab Faces

I joined a few of Tam's workshops over at Willowing & Friends and have been skipping between classes to do lots of different tutorials
One of her workshop groups is Fabulous Faces, which offers 6 weeks of tutorials that help you to draw some pretty amazing faces. Tam breaks everything down and her tutorials are very easy to follow...even if you have never drawn before.
So anyway, I just started wk 1, and the first tutorial is focused on producing a front facing portrait, using graphite pencils, so following her tutorial, here is how mine turned out...

I am pretty happy with hoe she turned out, what do you think?

markers

so, I am slowly but surely building up my art supply stash and decided that I have to start thinking of a nice way to store my markers in a way that they are close by and I do not have to unpack a whole bunch of things to get to them.
I have to admit that after sorting them out I have alot less than I thought I had lol or atleast it looks that way anyhow :)
I started with my new Kaisercraft Infusions alcohol markers...a little while ago I saw someone using and old CD holder to store them...Perfect, I had just the right one stashed away filled with cds I dont even listen to anymore. Then I dug out an assortment of artline markers, sharpies, slick sticks, Pitt pens and put them into some stationery holders that I picked up at Kmart for about $3 each.

Still have a long way to go to have a collection like everyone else, but have to start somewhere lol. Now to sort out my paints, pencils, etc.

The Rainbow Mermaid

I have joined some online art journal courses at Willowing Arts
and Tam is currently offering an amazing tutorial called The Rainbow Mermaid, you can access the class by making a donation to Water Charity. For more information click HERE

Tam is fantastic at breaking down how to do everything and even if you feel that you can not draw, she will show you step by step how to create your very own mermaid.
So, without further ado, I have completed my take:
I have used watercolour paints and dylusion sprays to create her.
So why not have a go at painting your mermaid and help a worthy cause at the same time.
Thanks Tam, I really enjoyed this tutorial,

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My.......

.....Well Tiger anyway lol.
I was asked if I would draw a Tiger for someone, the other day, and I have never even attempted to do so before, so thought it may be a good challenge. I did warn though, that I may not do a great job on it, but was willing to try :)
So after looking around for a little inspiration, I jumped in with pencils sharpened!
I was a little unsure with my end product, as I can be my own worst enemy, even at the best of times! That's when I knew it was time to put the pencil down lol.

Horse

I have been playing around with compressed charcoal pencils and had a go at drawing a horse head. I used to love to sit for hours and hours drawing horses, but time does not allow me to do so anymore!
I absolutely love working in black and white, and overall I was quite happy with my end result.
